The Golden Eagles Southeast Missouri State University Marching Band has been playing since 1957 and has played to thousands of spectators throughout the United States and abroad. The USC Marching Band have played at national football league games, including the St. Louis Cardinals, Atlanta Falcons and Kansas City Chiefs. They have also performed for two NFL Pro Bowl football games and a few super bowls. It's a Southern University Band.
The band is known for being one of the most televised university marching bands in the US. In 2008, they arrived in Edinburgh, Scotland to perform at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo becoming only the second marching band ever invited to the event showcasing the students music.
On their Scotland trip, they performed for a five weeks carrying out their display over thirty times. They were seen by over 217,000 live at the castle and from the BBC Broadcast, over 10 million from the UK and an additional 100 million worldwide watching the United States Marching Band.
This video shows the Golden Eagles Brass Bands perform Hey Baby for the Lord Provost in the City Chambers in Edinburgh, Scotland on Monday, July 28th, 2008. Also during that day, the Golden Eagles serenaded the wife of the Lord Provost during a reception not to mention singing the Southeast Alma Mater. The Student Bands tunes or US Marching songs performed include Yankee Doodle song and St Louis Blues as well as America the Beautiful.
