40 Indians were killed in a fire that claimed 49 lives on June 12 in a building housing workers in Kuwait’s Mangaf city, Ministry of External Affairs said. Reportedly, the fire broke out in a six-floor building housing migrant workers in al-Mangaf area, south of the capital Kuwait City. PM Narendra Modi held a high-level review meeting at his residence. PM Modi has announced compensation of Rs 2 lakh each for the families of the deceased. The massive blaze occurred in a kitchen when the workers were asleep.
