New research has found men are more likely to be perpetrators as well as victims of sextortion. The practice involves threatening to share intimate images of a victim to family, friends or contacts and is most often perpetrated by a current or former partner. A global study found it is most common in Australia, the US and South Korea, and is less likely in European countries.
