Essex dog fighting gang member Phillip Ali, who goes by Dr Death' was previously found guilty of 10 offences under the Animal Welfare Act 2006, including four offences of keeping and/or training a dog for use in a fight, and two of causing a fight. He was today sentenced to five years in prison and disqualified from keeping dogs for 10 years.
A cell phone seized by investigators revealed a treasure trove of evidence linking him to international dog fights, including this message - where he confirmed plans to reschedule fights if he got his dogs back from the RSPCA.
