Former President and GOP frontrunner Donald Trump was convicted of 34 Class E felony charges in New York on Thursday for his hush money payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels. While the US Constitution does not bar convicted felons from running for president, Trump's guilty verdict could still sway voters in the tight 2024 race. Trump will be sentenced on July 11th and faces a maximum of 4 years in prison per charge, but probation or fines are more likely outcomes. It would be difficult but possible for Trump to serve prison time. Trump can still vote in Florida as a convicted felon since New York allows felons to vote after incarceration.
