What Alas' coach wants if he gets re-signed
If he gets re-signed, coach Jorge Souza de Brito would like to keep most of Alas Pilipinas players led by Best Setter Jia De Guzman and Best Opposite Spiker Angel Canino, who competed in the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Challenge Cup for Women, for future international tournaments. The Brazilian coach just led the Philippine women's volleyball team to its first-ever podium finish in any AVC tournament, as Alas clinched a bronze medal via 25-23, 25-15, 25-7 win over Australia in the battle for third place at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum in Manila on May 29. De Brito's 3-year contract as Philippine women's team head coach ends on June 30.
