Special counsel Jack Smith filed a motion asking a federal judge to modify conditions of Trump's release to bar him from making public statements that could endanger law enforcement involved in the classified documents investigation. Prosecutors say Trump's claims that FBI agents who searched Mar-a-Lago in August were "authorized to shoot me" and were "locked & loaded, ready to take me out" have endangered law enforcement and threatened the integrity of proceedings. Trump's lawyers called the request "extraordinary, unprecedented, and unconstitutional censorship" and argued it unjustly targets Trump's campaign speech.
