Buddha Purnima is a sacred Buddhist festival which usually takes place on the full moon day of Vaisakh. It is a Hindu month falling between April and May in the Gregorian calendar. Buddha Purnima marks the birth of Prince Siddhartha Gautama. He later became Gautama Buddha and founded Buddhism.
