This video clip is a collaboration with the great Gnaoua master of Essaouira - Maalem Chrif Abdelkhadiri. It was created as a homage to the beautiful coastal city of Essaouira where my father was born and where he inherited his deep love for the sea. Essaouira is filled with the energy of the ‘Moussawine’, ancient guardian spirits of the ocean, evoked in different Gnaoua songs, such as this song. Gnaoua is a form of storytelling and also therapy. It has the power, through its mesmerizing groove and mystical chants to heal broken souls. " Imanouelle Harel "
