A halftime challenge during a Mexican soccer game has gone viral after both contestants went to hilarious lengths to win.
In theory, the two men were meant to clear several hurdles, cross over a balance beam, crawl through a tunnel on the ground, jump through a cutout, and score a goal on an empty net.
In reality, things went far differently.
Things started to go off the rails early in the relay race, which appeared to be at Thursday's matchup between Cruz Azul and Monterrey, as one man in shorts pushed another in blue jeans off of the balance beam, sending him stumbling to the ground.
From there, the man in shorts made his way through the tunnel - but the other man returned to give him a shove as he jumped through the cutout, flipping him over.
The man in jeans then chose to skip the cutout altogether, jogging around the obstacle as he approached a ball and looked set to score on an empty goal.
However, he slowed his run as he approached the ball, allowing the other contestant to catch up and deliver a crunching slide tackle from behind, leaving him in a heap.
The slide tackler then picked himself up for a simple side-foot finish before wheeling away in celebration.
The other man was left with his head in his hands on the ground as a nearby woman hilariously taped him.

Cruz Azul won the match, the Clausura semifinal first leg, 1-0 before advancing on aggregate.
