An encampment of anti-war student protesters at UC Berkeley was dismantled after the university agreed to review its financial investments related to Israel. Protesters had called for divestment from weapons manufacturers and surveillance companies with ties to Israeli military operations in Gaza. While the university can't independently divest, the Chancellor agreed to support examining investments and initiate a "rigorous review" by the UC Board of Regents. The encampment lasted three weeks without arrests and was largely peaceful.
