Footage has emerged of Rio Ferdinand telling Antonio Rudiger that Real Madrid's second goal against Bayern Munich on Wednesday night was offside.
After a 2-2 draw in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final, Bayern went ahead through Alphonso Davies.
Real equalised through substitute Joselu and the striker then found the net again in the first minute of stoppage time.
It initially appeared as though Joselu's second goal was going to be ruled out for offside, with Ferdinand informing Rudiger as such.
However, VAR then intervened and the goal was eventually allowed to stand, with Real securing their place in the final.
Ferdinand revealed that he had planned a celebration with Rudiger, which he unfortunately wasn't able to show off.
Ferdinand said on TNT Sports: 'As he was coming to me, I was thinking: 'Right, we've got a celebration planned here, me and Rudiger.
'But I saw the flag go up in the corner of my eye and I said: 'Get back on the pitch, get back on the pitch.'
'Unfortunately, we weren't able to show the celebration we had planned over the last couple of days. Maybe get there another time.'
There was further VAR controversy to come, with Bayern Munich's Matthijs De Ligt controversially having a late equalizer ruled out after Noussair Mazraoui was deemed to be offside.
Following their victory, Real are now through to the Champions League final, in which they will face Borussia Dortmund at Wembley on June 1.
Rudiger previously won the competition with Chelsea in 2021 and will now be looking to do so with Real.
