The US will withdraw some troops from Chad just days after Washington agreed to move forces out of neighbouring Niger. The withdrawal of 75 US Army Special Forces personnel is scheduled to begin this weekend and be completed within days, The New York Times reported. The US has approximately 100 troops stationed in Chad as part of its strategy to combat extremism in West Africa. Not just Chad, the majority of the 1,000 US military personnel deployed in Niger also are expected to depart. Experts say Chad, Niger and other countries across the African continent are questioning and rejecting the influence of Europe and the US.
