The first new models will go on sale before the end of 2024.
Honda will introduce its new Ye Series electric vehicles at this month's Beijing International Automotive Show. These new vehicles will join the automaker's existing e:N Series EV lineup already on sale in China and will be available before the end of the year.
The first two models to arrive will be Ye P7 and Ye S7. It will use a newly developed EV platform that is available in dual, single-motor, rear-wheel drive and dual-motor, all-wheel drive configurations. Honda said it will tailor the RWD versions to "offer sporty and spirited handling" while the AWD versions will be tailored to provide "high power and highly responsive handling".
The video also shows two EVs with similar silhouettes from just a few angles. However, they both have different front fascias and the S7's styling is slightly sportier than its sibling.
The brand also has plans to launch future production models based on the Ye GT Concept. The GT has a pointier nose, sleeker headlights, no fairings, and a wide, low-profile, coupe-like profile. Honda isn't offering much about the GT's specs, but said it designed the EV "to provide the ultimate driving experience." It will also be the first Honda car to feature a large screen for the front seat passenger.
Honda said the Ye P7 and Ye S7 will go on sale before the end of this year. Production models based on the Ye GT Concept will be available at dealerships in China by the end of 2025. The company plans to introduce 10 new EVs to the Chinese market by 2027, six of which are the new Ye Series models. The latest EV lineup will be part of the automaker's plan to shift its lineup in China to fully electric vehicles by 2035.
