The Health Minister told the House of Representatives on Friday that the Office of the Chief Medical Officer is leading an investigation by the Health Ministry into the deaths of seven babies at the neonatal unit at the Port of Spain General Hospital.
Minister Terrence Deyalsingh also announced that assistance is being sought from the Pan American Health Organisation.
The Minister delivered a statement on the tragedy following a heated exchange in the Lower House after his initial response to an Urgent Question on the matter.
