Compassion fatigue is a relatively new concept in the world of psychology. Often referred to as the 'cost of caring', it's estimated a huge proportion of workers in care-giving roles are experiencing it. After more than a decade of service with Victoria police, a lead detective has spoken about the effect it has had on him and his colleagues.
