The 39-year-old man is in police custody in connection with the beheading of four-year-old Amarah La-litte. We are told he never showed any violent tendencies before Monday night.
According to Amarah's mother, his actions at their home were a complete shock to her and she never expected him to have ever harmed her daughter.
If that's the case, then something went horribly wrong last night which caused the mother to flee the house and go to the police station, hoping that police would help calm the man's violent actions and rescue Amarah, who she said was a loving child and the light of every room she entered.
The woman said she and the 39-year-old murder suspect have been in a relationship for four years.
