The National Security Minister says the Police Service has indeed been taking note of the recent reports of criminal elements demanding protection money from business owners.
Fitzgerald Hinds says the Police Service, in collaboration with the Defence Force has undertaken several covert and overt operations to address the issue.
He was responding to a question posed by an Opposition MP in the House of Representatives.
