Speaking to the press in Beijing, Ministry of Commerce spokesperson He Yadong urged the U.S. to be ‘open, fair, just’ to foreign companies after passing a bill that means TikTok must divest its links to China.
‘The U.S. should earnestly respect the market economy and the principles of fair competition, cease unwarranted suppression of companies from other countries, and provide an open, fair, just, and non-discriminatory environment for enterprises from all countries to invest and operate.’
