Woman finds out she's pregnant during preparation for infertility operation

A woman battling infertility and undergoing an operation to fall pregnant had the procedure suddenly halted by medics - who told her she was expecting.

Morgan Allen, 28, and her husband, Kyle, 33, a business owner, had tried to conceive for a year when she decided to undergo a laparoscopy in July 2020.

The surgery was due to remove endometriosis - tissue similar to the lining of the womb growing in other places such as the ovaries and fallopian tubes - that Morgan had been diagnosed with years earlier.

But as she was getting ready to head into theatre, her doctor sprinted into the room and told the nurses to stop prepping her.

The doctor said pre-surgery tests revealed Morgan had fallen pregnant naturally and didn't need to go through with the procedure after all.
