OpenAI publicly responded to a lawsuit filed against it last week by its co-founder Elon Musk, targeting OpenAI for its secrecy around models like GPT-4. In its response, OpenAI shared old emails from Musk where he urged the startup to raise at least $1 billion in funding. Musk also agreed with the view that OpenAI should "start being less open" over time and "not share" its science publicly. OpenAI reproduced emails from Musk saying the company had a 0% chance of competing with DeepMind without "billions per year immediately."
