A 71-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a pensioner, aged in his 70s.
Police officers were called to an address on Rising Brook, in Stafford, at around 6pm on Sunday (3/3).
The elderly victim was discovered severely injured inside and despite the efforts of medics he could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 71-year-old man, from Rugeley, Staffs., was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody being quizzed by detectives.
Staffordshire Police has now urged anyone with information to get in touch with the force.
