China and Myanmar key topics at Southeast Asia-Australia summit
Southeast Asian leaders are gathering in Australia for a special summit where they'll likely discuss China's growing influence and the humanitarian crisis in Myanmar. The summit marks 50 years since Australia became an official partner of ASEAN, with nine out of ten ASEAN nations attending, while Myanmar is excluded due to ongoing violence. East Timor's leader will be present as an observer, and New Zealand's Prime Minister has been invited to join the discussions.
