White House: Russia acquires concerning new anti-satellite weapon
The White House confirms Russia's acquisition of an emerging anti-satellite weapon, described as ‘troubling’ but not capable of causing direct harm on Earth. While the weapon is not currently operational, US intelligence officials are closely monitoring the situation and consulting with allies. White House spokesman John Kirby emphasized that although concerning, the weapon does not pose an immediate threat to safety as it cannot target humans or cause physical damage on Earth.
