On February 2, Champai Soren took oath as the Jharkhand Chief Minister. The senior JMM leader was administered the oath of office by Governor Radhakrishnan at the Raj Bhavan. Along with Soren, senior Congress leader Alamgir Alam and RJD leader Satyanand Bhokta took oath as state ministers. The ceremony took place at the Durbar Hall of the Raj Bhavan. Soren was chosen as the new chief minister of Jharkhand after Hemant Soren tendered his resignation to Governor Radhakrishnan due to his arrest by Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money laundering case related to a land scam.
