Poor people’s dry fruit (mongphali / peanuts) - Which is the real, pure, delicious peanut?
Dry fruits in Pakistan are very expensive and out of the reach of the poor. So we can say that peanuts have become the poor people’s dry fruit. Research says peanuts can help reduce bad cholesterol levels and lower the risk of heart disease.
Where other dry fruits are sold for thousands of rupees, peanut is the only dry fruit that can be purchased for Under 1,000 rupees. The most affordable peanut is from Gujar Khan; it’s available in the market at a rate of 700 rupees per kg, and the peanut from Parachinar is the most expensive at 1200 rupees per kg.
