We were about to leave for home, and then Murphy's Law of railfanning took one of its most evil forms: Bridge #5 went down. We had to take a detour past Norfolk State University to get there. An empty hopper train heads west with a C40-9W and an ex-LMSX C40-8W providing power. The LMSX unit is four numbers apart from the other earlier in the day. It was pouring outside, as you can tell from the rain dripping off of the overpass bridge, and as Colin said, "it was freezing nutsack." I took cover under the overpass, and the engineer cut loose with the horn at the last second possible, causing the sound to explode under the structure.
