Supermarkets are being cleared from blame by the Fair Trading Commission in relation to the high price of food in this country. But the Commission explains that they do have a responsibility regarding what is available for consumption.
The Supermarket Association of T&T has expressed a concern that regulation for their industry appears more rigid when compared to the supply and distribution chain, which is said to be where the food inflation problem is coming from.
