Two attacks were launched from rebel-held Yemen that struck container ships in the vital Red Sea corridor. A ballistic missile fired from rebel-held territory in Yemen slammed into a cargo ship in the Red Sea near the strategic Bab el-Mandeb Strait. Earlier, another vessel was attacked in the same area. The attacks were attributed to Iranian-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen and endanger ships traveling through the crucial corridor for cargo and energy shipments between Europe and Asia via the Suez Canal to the Indian Ocean.
