Christian Peruzzi's Fatal Crash @ Nürburgring 2001 (Aftermath)

Christian Peruzzi was killed during Friday practice for the 2001 ADAC Nürburgring 24 Hours, scheduled the following weekend, when he lost control of his Alfa Romeo 147 JTD Diesel on the Nordschleife section between Schwedenkreuz and Aremberg. The car went off the road and rolled several times, Peruzzi suffered massive head injuries and died at the scene.

The accident occurred on 25 May 2001. Christian Peruzzi was the chairman of Fiat Automobile AG in Germany since 2000, after being CEO of Fiat Auto Ireland from 1997 to 1999. He was celebrating his 38th birthday that very day.
