Bashful blind mole detected in South Africa after decades
Conservationists and geneticists from the Endangered Wildlife Trust and the University of Pretoria rediscovered the elusive De Winton's golden mole, a blind species with iridescent fur, on South Africa's western coast after being lost to science since 1936. This marks the 11th rediscovery of sought-after lost species since the initiation of the Search for Lost Species initiative in 2017.
