Hoa Lu is the capital of the first social monarchy in Vietnam. Located in Northern Vietnam province of Ninh Binh.

It played the role as capital for years 968 to 1010 under the reign of the Dinh, early Le and Ly Dynasties.

After taking control of the 12 rebel warlords and unifying the country.

King Dinh Tien Hoang declared himself as emperor and established Hoa Lu as the capital.

He set up government, minted coin, developed exchanges for trading and restored national culture.

This made the country prosperous and Vietnam was at peace.

He named his reign Thai Binh which means peaceful and prosperous.

He passed away in 979

Le Dai Hanh succeeded the Dinh Dynasty in 980 by holding off the Song invasion and maintained national independence.

He continued the government presence by expanding foreign relations.
