NFL Week 8 Preview: Los Angles Rams vs. Dallas Cowboys

2023-10-27 30

The Dallas Cowboys (4-2) are hosting the LA Rams (3-4) on Sunday at AT&T Stadium. The Cowboys haven't played a home game since October 1, the Cowboys have won 10 straight games at home dating back to 2022. That is the longest active streak in the NFL.

The Rams are coming off a loss but Head Coach Mike McCarthy said to not let their 3-4 record fool you because they have competed in every matchup.

Matthew Stafford and Co. has two solid weapons on offense with WR Cooper Kupp and WR Puka Nacua. Kupp is coming off a rough game where he didn't see much action. He ended the night with two receptions for 29 yards. Nacua held things down for LA though, he finished the night with eight receptions for 154 yards.

They will be up against Dallas's top tier secondary that already has eight interceptions so far this season. On one side of the ball you have Stephon Gilmore who has two interceptions so far. Then on the other side of the ball you have DaRon Bland, who is the no.1 corner in the NFL through six games with a 23.3 rating (first in league). He also has three interceptions.

Head Coach Mike McCarthy stated in Wednesday morning's press conference that Rams QB Matthew Stafford is an excellent passer and can throw everything in the book. It should be exciting to see if Stafford can slip some through this Cowboys secondary.

Stafford has the ability to make top 10 plays but he will have to go against Micah Parsons, Demarcus Lawrence, and Osa Odighizuwa. The Cowboys pass rush has a 45.9 quarterback pressure, which is first in the NFL.

Dallas's offense has had their ups and downs. WR CeeDee Lamb is the go to guy for the Cowboys right now. He is averaging 79.2 YPG and is 129 yards away from 4,000 career receiving yards. LA's secondary gave up a lot of yards to the Stealers last week so Lamb could hit that marker on Sunday.
