Diana passed away on August 31, 1997, as a result of injuries she received in a Paris vehicle accident. Because of her enormous popularity and extensive humanitarian work, she is known as the "People's Princess."
On July 1, 1961, Diana was born close to Sandringham, England. Diana was the daughter of Frances Ruth Burke Roche, Viscountess Althorp, and Edward John Spencer, Viscount Althorp (later known as the Honorable Frances Shand Kydd). Diana's parents divorced when she was a little child, and her father ended up with custody of the kids.
Diana had a younger brother named Charles Spencer, 9th Earl Spencer, and two older sisters named Lady Jane Fellowes and Lady Sarah McCorquodale.
