Israel drops more than 1000, aerial bombs on the Gaza Strip in a day.
According to information published by Jacobin magazine, Israel has dropped more than 10,200 bombs on the Gaza Strip over the past week. That number is twice the number of bombs the U.S. dropped in Afghanistan in an entire year. Such a large-scale bombardment was shocking. In fact, every day Israel drops about a thousand bombs weighing kilograms or more on the region.
According to the UN, the power of the bombs used is equivalent to a quarter of the power of a nuclear bomb. This testifies to the high degree of destructiveness of the weapons used.
In the context of rising tensions in the Middle East, such a large-scale use of force raises serious concerns for the security of civilians living in the region. While Israel's supporters argue that the attacks are aimed at terrorist targets, critics stress that such a number of bombs will inevitably lead to a large number of civilian casualties.
