The man accused of stabbing two young women at the Australian National University in Canberra has been remanded in custody after choosing not to apply for bail when he appeared in the ACT magistrates court. 24-year-old Alex Ophel is facing two charges of attempted murder, two of assault and one of carrying a weapon with intent to kill. Two 20-year-old women injured in the attack remain in hospital.
