Taiwan prepares for China but it's business as usual
As Chinese fighter jets approach Taiwan, the island continued with its usual activities. Taiwan's government is investing heavily in US military equipment and extending military conscription, but some residents don't perceive an immediate threat, despite China's territorial claims and growing tensions. Comparisons have been drawn between Taiwan and Ukraine by American lawmakers and Taiwanese leader Tsai Ing-wen.
