Taiwan releases water lanterns for Ghost Month
Northern Taiwanese residents release colorful water lanterns to invite ancestors and those who died at sea to come ashore and feast during Hungry Ghost Month. These lanterns, resembling ancient Chinese guesthouses, are filled with joss papers and serve as an invitation for underworld spirits to enter our world.
