PAGASA raises Signal No. 2 anew as ‘Goring’ turns north-northwestward; landfall not ruled out

Typhoon Goring (international name: Saola) began to turn north-northwestward on Monday evening, Aug. 28, prompting the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) to once again raise tropical cyclone wind signal number 2 over parts of extreme Northern Luzon.

In its 11 p.m. bulletin, PAGASA said Goring maintained its maximum sustained winds of 155 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gusts of up to 190 kph, while moving north-northwestward at 10 kph.

The center of the eye of the typhoon was last located 240 kilometers east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.
