Nissan Recalls 236K Sedans

2023-08-21 772

Nissan is recalling approximately 236,000 Sentra sedans from 2020 to 2022 due to a potential issue with the tie rod in the car's suspension system. The tie rod, a crucial component for steering, could become bent or broken, leading to a loss of steering control for the driver. The recall was prompted by concerns that under specific conditions, the tie rods might lack sufficient strength and deform, especially when subjected to high forces like hitting a curb. Owners of affected vehicles will be notified by letters starting on October 5, 2023, and instructed to contact their Nissan dealer if they experience steering wheel issues. The company previously recalled Nissan Sentras in 2021 for the same tie rod issue, and cars repaired during that recall will also receive new tie rods once available.
