Chinese military holds drills near Taiwan as 'warning' after island official visits US
The Chinese military conducts drills around Taiwan as a "stern warning" due to perceived collaboration between "separatists and foreign forces." This followed Taiwanese Vice President William Lai's visit to the US to strengthen relations with Paraguay, which is Taiwan's last diplomatic partner in South America. China claims Taiwan as part of its territory and emphasized its exercises tested control of air and sea spaces.
