Banking Glitch in Ireland , Lets Customers Withdraw
Money They Don’t Have.
On Aug. 15, a technological glitch caused
an outage at the Bank of Ireland (BOI). .
It allowed customers to transfer up to
$1,090.20 to their accounts via the bank's app
and website, even if they had insufficient funds. .
That money could then be withdrawn
from an ATM, CBS News reports. .
Many people attempted to capitalize on the error, and others weren't able to access their accounts.

The issue has since been resolved.
The BOI issued an apology and warned that any funds that were withdrawn "over normal limits...
will be debited" from users' accounts.
This isn't the first time that the Irish lender
has had these issues, CBS News reports. .
