Over the last few years there has been a rise in dog bites, some of which have been fatal and multiple studies are connecting the uptick in incidents to the pandemic. One study, published last summer, found that dog bite injuries nearly tripled pediatric ER visits over several months in 2020, to about 80 cases for every 1,000 patients.
