Protests have broken out in Argentina following the murder of an 11-year-old schoolgirl, who was beaten and robbed in Lanus, south of Buenos Aires. The killing outraged protesters, already concerned by poverty and economic instability in the South American country. "I have an 11-year-old daughter" says Nelson Vargas, one of those protesting, "when I found out about this, I felt hopeless". The murder also led politicians to cancel campaigning ahead of two upcoming votes.
