Michigan charges 16 fake electors for Donald Trump with election law and forgery felonies
Michigan's attorney general, Dana Nessel, charges 16 Republicans with felony offenses for pretending to be electors for Donald Trump in the 2020 election, despite Joe Biden's victory in the state. The individuals are accused of submitting fraudulent certificates and could face up to 14 years in prison if convicted. Charged individuals include Kathy Berden, the head of the Republican National Committee's Michigan chapter; Meshawn Maddock, former co-chairman of the Michigan Republican Party; and Stan Grot, the Shelby Township Clerk.
