Victorian Government cancels event due to cost blowout

Just 15 months after agreeing to host the 20-26 Commonwealth Games the Victorian Government has pulled the plug on the event citing ballooning costs. Competition was to be held across regional Victoria with Melbourne to host the opening ceremony.
