Actors union head: 'Digital dominates industry' as strike begins
The president of the Screen Actors Guild, Fran Drescher, states that digital dominance in the industry has prompted Hollywood actors to strike due to concerns about the use of artificial intelligence. She highlights the issue of background performers being paid for a single day and having their likeness scanned, only to never be utilized again. This strike marks the first industry-wide walkout in 63 years, with both actors and TV/film writers joining forces.
