Independent Senator Lidia Thorpe has used the floor of parliament to accuse Liberal Senator David Van of sexual assault and harassment. Senator Van has fiercely rejected what he calls "disgusting" allegations saying Lidia Thorpe has used parliamentary privilege in a "malicious and despicable way".
