Reiterating his statement of being ‘ready to be hanged if allegations proved right’ remark, Wrestling Federation of India President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh on June 1 in Uttar Pradesh’s Gonda said that the demands that the wrestlers made in January have changed than what they are demanding now.
He also requested people to not ask him to comment on the remarks made by other people and asked everyone to wait for the investigation to get over. “The Delhi Police is already investigating the matter in hand. The demands of the wrestlers that they made in January were different than what they are demanding now. They are constantly changing their language and ways. I still stand by my statement that I am ready to be hanged if any of the allegations are proved right against me. I am requesting you all to wait for the investigation to get over,” Singh said.
Several prominent wrestlers have been protesting for a long time against WFI President over harassment allegations by women wrestlers including a minor. Taking the protest a level further, the protesters have also given an ultimatum for submerging their medals in River Ganga.
Meanwhile, an investigation over the matter against WFI President is under way.
