Hiroshima atomic bomb survivor warns against nuclear arms
Leaders of the G7 developed economies will meet in Hiroshima, and are expected this week to visit the Peace Memorial Park that commemorates the atomic bombing of one of two cities by the United States on August 6, 1945. The other was Nagasaki on Aug. 9, 1945. It was the first time that nuclear bombs were used against any country during World War 2.
Masao Ito, then four years old, survived the US nuclear attack and has worked for almost two decades as a volunteer guide for the peace memorials and museum in Hiroshima, and as an anti-nuclear campaigner.
